In 2010, the opening of Hotel Fasano Punta del Este, in Uruguay, marked the international expansion of the Fasano brand. With an award-winning architectural project conceived by Isay Weinfeld, which effortlessly interacts with the breathtaking natural landscape, the first Fasano outside of Brazil is widely known as one of the most beautiful resorts in the world.
Overlooking the Maldonado river, the property occupies a preserved area of 490 hectares in the heart of La Barra. After undergoing an expansion project, the hotel unveiled a new element: Locanda Fasano. Designed by Carolina Proto and located next to the iconic Fasano Restaurant, Locanda Fasano is comprised of 10 new apartments and suites, adding to the existing 20 bungalows on the ground.

Fasano Punta del Este offers you the luxury of all Fasano Hotels but with a unique setting, right at the countryside and surrounded by the endless meadows and mounts of Maldonado. Peace, relax and amazing gastronomy blend together thanks to the espectacular Las Piedras Restaurant. We can’t really ask for more.
What a wonderful place this is, views across the countryside, surrounded by wildlife, foxes, armadillo, owls, hummingbirds. Fantastic service, everything taken care of. A large sprawling property with golf course, beach on the estuary, relaxing pool, and the restaurant in the main building had the best sunset view.

Gastronomy at Fasano Punta del Este
Las Piedras Restaurant
The informal ambiance of Las Piedras restaurant is Gero Fasano’s interpretation of an authentic Italian trattoria. Combined with the rustic charm of Punta del Este, the space is perfect for informal meals. French doors open to the internal garden surrounded by trees.
A collection of rare books composed of first and limited editions line the walls. On Sundays, in addition to the a la carte menu, a salad and antipasto buffet is offered at lunchtime.

In its first international outpost, Fasano brings a century of culinary tradition and experience to Punta del Este. With a focus on regional Italian cuisine, Fasano Restaurant opens its doors for dinner, from 8pm to 11pm.
It unites the natural beauty of Las Piedras with the refined gastronomy of the Fasano family. Nestled on one of the country’s highest peaks, the restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Uruguayan countryside and Maldonado river. The indoor dining room are sculpted on the rocks, adding to the location’s rustic charm to create a space that is in complete harmony with nature.
